Since 1995, AudioVision has been creating a library of described film and television broadcast material. With the permission of the copyright holders or using films in the public domain, AudioVision has amassed over 500 described movies. Because many of the productions are considered classics and are timeless in their potential to entertain, these movies are still seen in the broadcast environment.
To further our primary goal of making film and television production accessible to the vision impaired/restricted, AudioVision makes the described soundtracks of these films available to broadcasters at a fraction of the cost it would take to describe an original production. |

The process for acquiring the described broadcast soundtrack is very simple. Once you have confirmed that the title can be found in our database, call an AudioVision account executive. Schedule a time (at least one week prior to the broadcast date) with our production supervisor to send your master or clone to our studios. We will then stripe the described soundtrack onto the film and return the finished described version to your broadcast center ready for airing. All that is needed to proceed is confirmation that you have acquired the broadcast rights we will then add the soundtrack. It usually does not take more than a day to complete this work.
The price for this process involves the cost of studio time for processing, delivery costs and a contribution to the original cost of producing the described soundtrack. It is a both a cost and time efficient method of providing described material in the broadcast setting.
