| In 1930’s Rome, Hitler is arriving for his first visit with Italy’s dictator Mussolini. Emanuele (John Vernon) rushes off to the parade marking the historic event, leaving his wife Antoinetta (Sophia Loren) in the kitchen. She escapes the heat and boredom with a walk on the roof where she meets Gabriel (Marcello Mastroianni). Their meeting will change both their lives and gives us this wonderful masterpiece from director Ettore Scola.
